Repeat Prescriptions

Requests for these must be in writing, to avoid mistakes, and require 48 hours’ notice. Please use the computerised slip, ticking only those items which you need and either hand it in to reception or post it to us.

If you want your prescription posted please do not forget to supply us with a stamped addressed envelope.

For collection, either come to the desk or arrange to pick it up from a local pharmacist.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
